It is a requirement of Ramblers insurance that walk leaders undertake an assessment of the hazards and mitigating measures for all walks.
Since our area contains mostly Easy through Moderate walks, a generic risk assessment has been prepared for the use of walk leaders, based on the generic “Ramblers Risk Assessment” and common sense.
Use this risk assessment as a starting point to think about your specific walk. We recommend making a note of any additional hazards.
Review and share your plan with walkers on the day. The Walk Leader should be prepared to review the risks and mitigating measures dynamically.
