East Yorkshire and Derwent Area Ramblers

walking to protect our local countryside

Definitely a walk of two halves.

A heavy shower just before the start of the walk didn't bode well for Mike Norman and his happy band of 10 followers. However, the first couple of hours passed well without the expected drenching. The coffee stop at Lake Gormire was pleasantly mild and sheltered. Then came lunch time. Right on cue the rain came down, sandwiches in danger of getting soggy, walkers bedraggled. But we're Ramblers. It was soon onwards and very much upwards to the escarpment above Tang Hall to face the chilly wind and the lowering skies. Our luck was in and we were soon able to enjoy the spectacular views all the way back to the White Horse with only a splash of rain here and there.

Another thoroughly enjoyable walk.
