East Yorkshire and Derwent Area Ramblers

walking to protect our local countryside

At last! The 16 walkers led by Marilyn Skelton enjoyed a day without rain (well, only a sprinkling), sleet, snow or cold winds. The route covered about 8 miles of the Wass Wanderers' Way, a walk devised by the villagers to celebrate the Millenium.

Two religious buildings were passed on the walk, the ruin of Byland Abbey and the modern Stanbrook Abbey built in 2009 for an order of Benedictine nuns.
