East Yorkshire and Derwent Area Ramblers

walking to protect our local countryside

Last week it was mud, this week it was rain. Heavy at times. And fog. What became of April showers?

Undaunted, seven walkers led by Jill Wiseman enjoyed a good walk in the Sutton Bank area. On the way back, after skirting Lake Gormire the group climbed the steep permissive path to Garbutt Wood nature reserve.

The rain had temporarily turned tree trunks orange and the moss was a brilliant green, reminiscent Jill thought of a Bilbo Baggins scene.

Despite the rain, everyone was glad that they hadn't stayed at home
