East Yorkshire and Derwent Area Ramblers

walking to protect our local countryside

A fine, sunny morning at Cropton as 18 members arrived for this 12 mile led by Martin Hill.

Heading off north, Martin took a track through Fall Rigg into Cropton Forest, continuing to Low Muffles and then turning to Hartoft End.

Ascending onto Spaunton Moor provided good viewing combined with a spot for lunch.

Resuming, the route continued over Spaunton Moor to Lastingham, then skirting Hagg Wood to Lower Askew and Appleton Mill before the final, uphill section - a steady climb back to Cropton!

Walking conditions were ideal with a mixture of field, forest and moorland paths across varied terrain - only a few boggy bits!
