East Yorkshire and Derwent Area Ramblers

walking to protect our local countryside

A crisp, frosty morning with clear skies at The Stapylton Arms, Wass, as 19 members arrived for this 6 mile pub lunch walk led by Elizabeth Prest. Setting off across fields towards Byland Abbey good views were had of the historic ruin and surrounding countryside. Then towards Fox Folly and north to Oldstead for a coffee stop,

Resuming, the group walked up through Snever Wood before turning to descend through Abbey Bank Wood to Wass, being joined by 6 non - walking members for a Christmas lunch  - enjoyed by all.

Great walk, weather, scenery and meal.
