East Yorkshire and Derwent Area Ramblers

walking to protect our local countryside

Carpets of bluebells stretching through Riccal Dale were at their best for this 6.5 mile walk led by Marilyn Skelton. A total of 19 walkers enjoyed the good weather and spectacular flower displays.

The walk wasn't without a spot of culture, when a Bird Cherry tree in full bloom inspired John Williams to recite the whole of A.E.Housman's poem "Loveliest of Trees" - Click HERE for the poem.

All enjoyed a good lunch afterwards at The Feathers in Helmsley.
